AI Data-Use & Privacy

• Ask vivi: a chat assistant that can answer questions across your notes.
• Summaries & flashcards: AI-generated summaries and study aids from your notes.
• Voice transcription: converting your voice recordings into editable text.
• Semantic search: finding related notes by meaning, not just keywords.

We use a small number of specialized AI providers rather than building every model ourselves. The current providers, and what each one is used for, are listed on our Sub-processors page under "Third-party AI model providers."

Prompts and content sent to an AI provider to generate a result are retained by that provider only as long as needed for abuse monitoring and safety, then deleted. Exact retention windows pending confirmation with each provider. We do not maintain a permanent copy of provider-side logs.

When you record a voice note, the audio is sent to our transcription provider to produce a text transcript, then deleted from that provider once transcription completes. Exact deletion window pending confirmation. The original recording itself is stored on our infrastructure like any other file you upload, subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.

An "embedding" is a numeric representation of a note's meaning that lets vivlo find related notes without a human — or a model — reading the note itself. Embeddings are stored on our infrastructure, are not shared with third parties, and are deleted when the note or your account is deleted.

• Turn off AI features entirely in Settings → AI.
• Exclude an individual note from AI processing and semantic search.
• Export or delete your account and all associated AI data at any time.

AI processing currently takes place in the United States. Confirm if any region-specific routing exists. If we add region-specific AI processing in the future, we will update this section.
